Winner Time! Shapeways Mini House Contest Winners Announced

Earlier this year Shapeways hosted a 3D Printed Miniature House Contest to demonstrate how 3D printing is the perfect tool for creating unique pieces for your miniature house or display. The challenge was to show off what you've made or purchased with Shapeways and enter for a chance to win printing credit. Contestants submitted a picture of their miniature house or roombox display decked out with 3D printed furniture and decor items, and described which items were 3D printed and how they were finished. Please check out all of the entries and descriptions posted here. There were so many amazing entires the judges had their work cut out deciding. The final votes came down to a difference of 1 point for third place. It was really close! Without further ado the winners are...

Gold $125 credit: Otterine

PRD Miniatures at Chicago International 2015

Paris and Lisa of PRD Miniatures were back with a ton of new times at Chicago International. Here are all of my photos of their booth. The top house is a new kit they are working on. The house lower down is the Mid-Century Modern house we built in the workshop. More details on that to come.

Contact Paris or visit their website at PRD Miniatures to inquire or purchase items.

Lamis Minis at Chicago International

Pia Becker of Lamis Minis made her debut at Chicago International this year. I love her plants! The first one is exactly what I'm looking for. I've been looking for a large Dracaena marginata and this is the closest I've seen. Her plants are so realistic.

Standing People Designs at Chicago International 2015

I'm kind of obsessed with wood turnings... Bear and Alisa Limvere of Standing People Designs have an amazing booth full of wood wonders. They both still work full-time so they only go to the Chicago, Philly and two Denver shows. Here are my pictures of all of their wood art.
